Create your Brand Guide

Getting a great name for your business is so important. Once you’ve established it make sure you claim your social handles and web address before telling anyone. Decide on your key fonts and colours. Having strong Brand Guidelines will keep your business on track and you can share with other suppliers, designers or photographers that you might use in the future to make sure they stay on brand too.

Research

Knowing who your customer is crucial to creating a successful brand. Find out where they currently shop and what prices they are willing to pay. Do they buy online? What prints/colours fabrics do they prefer? What will make your brand desirable to your ideal customer?

Grow Your Social Following

Once you know where your ideal customer hangs out start promoting your brand and developing a following. Create your social media sites, join groups, get commenting and meeting your ideal customers. Get to know them through polls, quizzes and questions in post, stories and reels.

 Find your USP

Everyone has a sweet spot, maybe a strong ethical policy will appeal to your customer, or a particular theme for instance Mod Scooter Theme, or maybe a clean white linen no fuss look? Find out what will make you stand out from your competitors.

 Know your Budget

Have you got £500 or £5000 to develop your fashion brand? No point reaching for the stars without knowing your budget. Stick to what you can afford, find solutions to suit your budget. Your budget will determine your order size and manufacturing partner, this is crucial to know up front.

Create a Plan of Action

Plan each step from brand development through to delivery to customer. How long each step takes, what it costs, delivery costs, currency differences, import tax implications. Know your target launch date and try to keep to the plan and to the budget.
